Big Birdie Golf
How to play
Big Birdie Golf™ can be played with 1 to 4 players. A team consists of 2 players. Teammates stand at opposite net pits. Net pits should be placed 25 to 30 feet apart and offset as pictured below. Points are awarded based on which ring of squares a Big Birdie Golf ball is hit or tossed into.
- Ring 1 = 1 point
- Ring 2 = 2 points
- Ring 3 = 3 points
When playing with golf clubs, the standard club used should be a pitching wedge. Games are played to 15 or 21 points and must be won by a 2 or more point margin.
Begin play with one team member from each team at the same net pit. Each player hits or tosses all three of his or her same colored Big Birdie Golf balls in a row.
Not all Big Birdie Golf balls that have landed in the opposite net pit will be awarded points. Points are cancelled when both players have a Big Birdie Golf ball that has landed in the same ring of squares. In order to score any points the golf ball of a Big Birdie Golf ball must pass completely through one square in a net pit.
Once all 3 Big Birdie Golf balls have been hit or tossed by both teammates, points should be awarded by opposite teammates. Once added up and agreed upon by both team members, repeat the above. There are many versions of play. The above is open to whatever teammates agree on and can be changes to suit your best and most fun way to enjoy Big Birdie Golf.
Note: When tossing instead of using a pitching wedge, you may wish to place the nets closer together than 25-30 feet to make an easier tossing distance.
